A Tisket, A Tassel!

No this is not a green and yellow basket! It’s a bunch of fringe! The newest trend on the Fall Fashion swing is Fringe and lots of it! Fringe accents are so stylish if you are going for an urban boho sense of style or if you have a rugged side waiting to burst out! Adding a little fringe to your wardrobe will give you that daring edge above the rest!

If you are looking to start out slow with just little accents of fringe, try getting a fringe bad, fringe boots or heals. Adding a little flair of fringe will give you a southwestern chicness that will have your friends gabbing “Where did you get that?”

Once you get used to having fringe in your wardrobe, take the next step and be daring enough to wear fringe clothing! Find a great jacket with fringe or a cutoff shirt that has strips of fringe! You can even find fringe shorts from Billabong that are oh-so-cute!

Have no money to buy some fabulous fringe? No problem! Grab an old shirt that you never wear and some scissors, cut down the top of the shirt with the torso version all that’s left. Cut little slits about half way up on the section of the shirt. Gently pull them down and stretch out the fabric and you are ready to wear! The perfect fringe scarf for nothing at all!

A Scarf By Any Other Way Would Look as Chic!

All wrapped up in your pile of scarves but have no idea how to wear them! Simple, there are so many different ways to wear a scarf and you can base that on your mood for the day!

The most common way to wear a scarf is to wrap it around your neck with both sides hanging down the front or drape one side down your back with the other side in the front. These are easy ways to wear scarves if you are in a hurry in the morning.

Another fun way to wear a scarf is to wrap it around your neck with a corner hanging down the front. Tuck the ends in for a trendy look!

One of the most popular scarf trends is the infinity scarf that is a circular scarf that is attached to itself! You can simply wear it long or wrap it around your neck two or three times!

Scarves are the perfect accessory for Fall and Winter! Make any regular pair of jeans and a jacket look trendy with any of these ways to tie a scarf! Colors and prints are always fun to look for in a scarf to spice up any outfit! The bolder the better!

Fall Fashion: Layering

Layer it on ladies! With the cool months starting to fall in, layering is the best way to keep warm and stay stylish! Even though your cheeks get red from the fall air, you will stay toasty from head to toe!

The trick is to keep adding it on! For one outfit, grab your skinny jeans and pair with boots, a light top, a casual blazer, and a scarf. If you are dying to wear your favorite skirt but its intimidating by the cold weather. pair your skirt with a pair of tights, boots, a top, an oversized sweater, and a scarf. If its really cold, add a jacket on top.

The newest layering trend to hit the consumer market is to take a cute pair of knee high socks and wear them under a pair of boots! A trick you can also do to recycle and save money, take an old sweater and cut off the arms. Sew a simple loop stitch onto the cut side and wear as socks! Your feet and wallet will thank you for it!

One Fish, Braid Fish!

Fishing for a new hairstyle? Why not try a fishtail braid! This style of braiding was first popular during the 90s and is now making a comeback in summer/fall fashion trends! Make any outfit look a little edgier with a side fishtail braid!

You may be thinking that this is a huge complex hairstyle, but it is actually really easy!

Here’s what you will need:
A brush
A black or clear hair-tie
A few bobby pins

First, you want to brush out your hair so there aren’t an y tangles or knots. Bring it all to one side, I personally like to put it to the side that is opposite my bangs but you can do whatever you like! Separate your hair into two sections. Take a small piece from one section and cross to the other. Repeat this until you start to see a weave forming. Continue to grab sections and cross over as long as you want and secure with a rubber band. If there are any fly-aways that are bugging you just pin them back with the bobby pins!

There you have it! Give the fishtail braid a try sometime and you will be so happy you did!

xoxo!

Bronze Goddess

Summer is winding down, but that does not mean your inner bronze babe has to wither away. Here is an easy and simple way to get a beachy look without caking on the makeup. This look will emphasize your true beauty and let you shine rather than your make-up. Become a natural bronze beauty with these simple steps:

1. Powder Base:
For a light concealer, I prefer Cover Girl TruBlend Minerals Loose Powder. It goes on easy with a light finish. TruBlend adds just the right amount of coverage without a heavy feeling of liquid concealer.

2. Bronzer:
I also love to use Cover Girl TruBlend Bronzer number 435 for a bronzy glow. Apply to the contours of your cheek bones as well as a light finish all over for an overall glow.

3. Blush:

Add a little rosy pink to your cheeks for a hint of color. I love the Mac Blush in Peachy Keen applied to the apples of my cheeks for little something extra!

4. Eye Shadow:

Add to your eyes a light gold shadow that has a touch of shimmer in it. The color will make your eyes sparkle showing off their natural color. I found a great shadow called the Milani Eye shadow in #11 Beach Sand. Apply with a medium sized brush and cover all of your lid. If you prefer a darker shade, apply a cream base on entire lid before applying your eyeshadow.

5. Eyeliner:

By adding a little eyeliner on the top of your lid, you will bring out your lashes as well as making them look thicker. I love the Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen. It is so easy to apply and gives you the liquid eyeliner look without the mess. For a more dramatic look, sweep the liner out into a cat eye to enhance your lashes even more!

6. Mascara:

Add mascara to your upper and bottom lashes to really make your eyes the focal point of your face. I love Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black to add volume and a bit of drama to my lashes.

7. Lip-Gloss:

Finish off your entire look with a little bit of gloss. I am crazy for Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Soothing Lip Balm. It is a gloss that also works as a balm with a minty soothing feeling the minute you add it too your lips. It is a great two in one product that I never leave the house without, especially when I may have had chapped lips.

Birds of a Feather

Feathers are a hot trend right now, but how do you wear them? There are many ways to add feathers into your wardrobe other than the ever popular feathers in your hair. Find your tribal side with these three looks with feathers as the main feature!

1. Wear feathers from a necklace to add a little special touch to your girl next door look

2. Bring out your inner love child with a headband adorned with feathers. Wear either on top of head of around head to create a hippie-esc inspired look!

3. Feather earrings in all colors add an edgy touch to a day or evening look. Peacock feathers look great with grey and muted tones which make the colors pop!
